【Film Info】"Citizen or Stranger Part1&2"

An extended family of immigrants who now live in six different countries yet come from the same part of the world - Somaliland, a nation torn apart by civil war for the last thirty years. In each country, the family members tell of their lives in their adopted country and their hopes for the future.

As technology continues to make the world a smaller place and facilitates the movement of people, migration is also becoming an issue in an increasing number of places. In this film, migrants in countries like Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Denmark speak of their experiences in their own words.

"Citizen or Stranger" will air on NHK BS1 "NHK World Documentary" (from 24:00) on the 8th and 9th of October 2012. It will also premiere in Japan at the 7th UNHCR Refugee Film Festival.
