Hundreds of thousands of Africans flee to Europe every year. They flee from poverty, political persecution or war, often risking their lives in the process. The film documents four asylum seekers who have made it to Germany. Confronted by restrictive asylum laws, they live on the edge of society, work illegally, and slowly begin to lose their identity and dignity. However, to their families in Africa they continue to say that they live in ‘Paradise Europe’.
