Rain in a Dry Land

Director: Anne Makepeace
USA(2006)
83 min
Audio: English and Bantu Subtitles: English

RAIN IN A DRY LAND chronicles two years in the lives of two Somali Bantu families as they journey from Africa to America. It is a story of culture shock and time travel, as these subsistence farmers find themselves transported to a mysterious and confusing land. Most importantly, it is a human story about new Americans whose open-hearted resilience enables them to make a new life.
