Fleeing civil war, people from the southern Philippine island of Mindanao arrived by boat in Malaysia. Their children have become 'stateless'. They are denied basic rights to education, healthcare, and are ignored by the international community. This portrayal of their plight demands that we reconsider what "nationality" truly means.
