Mukamusoni is a Congolese single mother raising three children in a refugee camp in Rwanda. "There is no future here for the children" she believes. 'But, what is "Third Country Resettlement?" Where is Finland? Is it really 6,954 km away? I'm not sure about everything, but it's ok. As long as I am with my children, it will be alright.' Mukamusoni speculates about a new future in a distant land.

The UNHCR makes every effort to support those refugees during the start of their new life. 6954 KILOMETRES TO HOME is a heart-moving story of a Congolese refugee family who undergo Third Country Resettlement. Overcoming the difficulties that they face, they move from a refugee camp in Rwanda to create a new life Finland.
