In 1991, a young Burmese escaped from the military junta in Myanmar to seek refuge in Japan. Reunited with his wife, he opened a restaurant and lived peacefully for 20 years. During this time, he continued to participate in the democratization of Myanmar.
Director Toshikuni Doi, renowned for "Breaking the Silence" (KinemaJunpo Best Movie of The Year 2009) and "True to Myself" (Ranked 2, KinemaJunpo Top 10 Movies 2012), has documented this moving story, covering fourteen years of the life of a refugee torn between his homeland and his adopted country, Japan.
