【Film Info】"THE SUFFERING GRASSES （AND THE CRISIS IN SYRIA）"
This year's opening film handles what is presently the world's most complex humanitarian crisis.
In March 2011, civil war broke out in Syria, throwing civilians into an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. By the beginning of September, over 2 million Syrian refugees have already fled to neighbouring countries, and a further 4.2 million civilians are internally displaced because of current events.
The documentary features interviews with refugees residing in refugee camps in Turkey. While showing horrors of the civil war, it also gives a voice to those caught in the crossfire, sharing their stories and expressing their hopes for peace. Sharing the reality of the daily experiences of refugees, this documentary poses hard questions to the viewer.
