Set in the aftermath of the Balkan war, GRBAVICA dramatises the love and innocence-lost of those caught in conflict. Twelve year old Sara takes pride in the belief that her father was martyred in the war. Children of fallen warriors do not have to pay for school trips, but when Sara learns her father is not on the list, she confronts her mother who must now face the secrets she has kept hidden for so long.
