Summer 1945, the end of World War II. Most of the young Japanese who had gone to settle in China had been left behind. The dreams that carried them there were crushed as the Imperial Japanese Army surrendered, and those abandoned faced reprisals and death. A young Chinese peasant and his aging mother befriend such two Japanese nationals, accepting them unconditionally. What begins as friendship ultimately blossoms into a love beyond borders. Emotions of flight shown in this film are the same that refugees around the world experience today. Winner of the 2007 Monaco International Film Festival Angel Film Awards.
